Assigning GL Transaction Source Security
You can assign transaction source security for General Ledger so that users can see in the 1-3 Journal Transactions window only transactions from sources they have permission to view.
For example, if you want to ensure that accounts payable clerks cannot view transactions from Payroll, when you set up their security group, specify each type of source transaction that users in this group can view in General Ledger.
To assign GL Transaction Source Security to a security group:
- Open 7-2-1 Security Groups.
- Set up the security group as usual, or select an existing security group.
-
In the GL Transaction Source Security cell, press F5 or click the lookup
button.Sage 100 Contractor displays the Select Transaction Sources Allowed for Group window.
-
In the Select Transaction Sources Allowed for Group window, select each transaction source that employees in this group can view in General Ledger.
Tip: If menu-level security is applied in the program for the selected security group, you can save time by clicking the [] button to select the transaction sources automatically based on the menu-level security settings for that group.
