Entering assemblies

Complete functionality is only available if you have purchased the Estimating Add-On Module and the Service Receivables Add-On Module.
Assembly functionality is available only if you have purchased the Estimating Add-On Module or Service Receivables Add-On Module.

Before entering assemblies

Consider the following points:

Include all the items that you might need in the assembly. It is easier to delete unnecessary parts in a takeoff than it is to remember to add seldom-used parts.
You can include an image of the assembly.
You can use the Formula text box to declare the value of variables. In the Formula text box, enter a variable followed by an equal sign (=) and separate each variable using a comma. For example: SqFt=, LnFt=,.
Do not declare the value of the variables in the assembly. When you enter the assembly in a takeoff, you can enter the values for the variables.

To enter an assembly:

Open 9-3 Assemblies.
In the data control text box, enter the assembly number.
In the Description text box, enter a brief statement about the assembly.
In the Unit text box, enter the unit of measurement.
In the Formula text box, enter the assembly formula.
In the Assembly Class list, click an assembly class number.
Click the Parts Details grid. Then do the following for each part that you need in the assembly:
1. In the Part cell, enter the part number.
2. In the Quantity cell, enter the quantity of parts that you need in the assembly.
3. On the menu bar, click Calculate.
4. Review the assembly.
On the File menu, click Save.
