Updating Part Prices in a Takeoff Template

When you have created a set of takeoff templates, you'll want to keep the parts and part prices current so that the templates remain useful.

To update parts in a takeoff template:

1. Open the 9-5 Takeoff Launch window.
2. Click the Templates tab.
3. On the grid, select the template you want to update, and then click [Open Template] (or simply double-click the template name on the grid).

4. On the Update menu, select either:

   • Grid > Prices from Parts Database, and then select a pricing method.

   • Takeoff > Prices from Database, and then select a pricing method. More

     You can select from the following pricing methods:

     • Use Default Cost
     • Use Billing Amount
     • Use Average Cost
     • Based on Takeoff Vendors
     • Use Lowest Cost Vendor
     • Use Preferred Vendor and Cost
5. Click [Yes] at the message telling you how the part prices will be updated.
6. Click File > Save.
